Role Overview
The Technical Product Manager will own and scale Dream Payments’ POS software and payments platform. This role combines product strategy, technical execution, and partner engagement, focusing on delivering a cohesive, scalable platform for merchants and enterprise partners.
The manager will work closely with engineering, commercial teams, and external partners to ensure a reliable, extensible, and competitive platform.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Strategy & Vision
Define and evolve the product vision and multi-year roadmap.
Identify opportunities across merchant onboarding, payment acceptance (in-person, online, omnichannel), and value-added services.
Align platform strategy with enterprise partner goals and SMB merchant needs.
Evaluate build vs. buy vs. partner decisions.
2. Platform Product Development
Own the design and evolution of modular platform capabilities.
Translate partner and internal requirements into product specs, system requirements, and prioritized backlogs.
Partner with engineering on architecture, scalability, performance, and reliability.
Embed AI-driven capabilities such as payment optimization, fraud detection, and automated reconciliation.
3. End-to-End Product Delivery
Lead product execution from discovery to delivery and iteration.
Write PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Participate in sprint planning, estimation, and release planning.
Ensure timely, high-quality delivery across multiple initiatives.
Leverage AI tools to accelerate documentation, testing, and knowledge sharing.
4. Partner & Client Engagement
Act as a key product contact for enterprise clients and merchant acquirers.
Collaborate with sales, customer success, and implementation teams.
5. Payments & POS Domain Ownership
Own POS software capabilities, payment acceptance flows, device integrations, and terminal ecosystems.
Stay updated on trends in embedded payments, SoftPOS/Tap-to-Pay, and omnichannel commerce.
6. Data, Performance & Reliability
Define and monitor KPIs: payment success, transaction latency, platform uptime, and adoption.
Use data to identify bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement.
Ensure high availability and resilience in partnership with engineering and operations.
Qualifications
Experience
5–8+ years in product management: payments, fintech, POS, SaaS, or platform-based products.
Experience delivering technical, API-driven platforms.
Working with enterprise clients (B2B2B / B2B2C models).
Familiarity with AI/ML-powered products or AI-assisted workflows.
Core Skills
Translate business problems into scalable technical solutions.
Strong understanding of API design, distributed systems, cloud architectures, SaaS/product models.
Excellent communication with technical teams, business stakeholders, and partners.
Strong prioritization and decision-making skills.
AI & Automation in Product Development
Experience using AI/Generative AI tools for product workflows: PRDs, backlog refinement, prototyping, testing.
Familiarity with LLM-based agents (e.g., ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot).
Ability to evaluate AI for productivity gains without introducing risks.
Industry Knowledge (Preferred)
Deep understanding of payments ecosystem: acquirers, processors, gateways, payment networks.
Knowledge of card-present/card-not-present flows, authorization, clearing, settlement, reconciliation.
Familiarity with POS hardware and terminal ecosystems, PCI compliance, and merchant onboarding (KYC/KYB).
Exposure to embedded finance or vertical SaaS is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $120,000 – $130,000 / year

Education & Experience (Preferred)
Bachelor’s Degree
3+ years in embedded finance or vertical SaaS
3+ years in payments ecosystem
1+ year in Payments Product Management
1+ year leveraging AI/Generative AI tools in product development
1+ year delivering technical, API-driven platforms
