Role Overview

Lead and grow a new AI-focused engineering team. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will own the strategy and execution for integrating AI and machine learning into Auvik’s product suite. This role combines people leadership with technical vision.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers and applied scientists.

  • Define and execute the AI product roadmap with Product Management.

  • Translate customer needs into shipped AI/ML features.

  • Evaluate and integrate emerging AI technologies (LLMs, agents, predictive models).

  • Establish engineering best practices for ML development.

  • Collaborate with platform, data, and product teams to embed AI into core product experiences.

  • Communicate progress and trade-offs clearly to leadership.


Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience leading engineering teams and shipping AI/ML products.

  • Strong product sense; ability to connect technical work to business outcomes.

  • Knowledge of modern AI/ML: LLMs, RAG architectures, embeddings, fine-tuning, ML infrastructure.

  • Experience developing and retaining technical talent.

  • Comfort with ambiguity; pragmatic decision-making in fast-moving environments.

  • Excellent communication, including translating complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

Bonus Points

  • Background in network management, monitoring, or infrastructure software.

  • Experience with AI-driven automation, anomaly detection, or predictive analytics in operations.
