About Active Outreach Services
Active Outreach Services has over 20 years of experience supporting children and young people aged 5–25, including those with SEND, SEMH needs, disadvantaged backgrounds, or who have been excluded from school. The organisation delivers personalised mentoring and tuition programs designed to build confidence, boost self-esteem, reduce crime, and guide youth toward brighter futures.
Role Overview
We are seeking a supportive and engaging Online Mentor to guide a learner through a structured 6–8 week mentoring programme. The learner is a bright young person learning from home due to health-related fatigue, and the programme aims to provide confidence-building, guidance, and career-focused support.
All materials, including the mentoring plan, slides, and workbooks, are provided. The mentor will deliver sessions, encourage reflection, and guide goal setting.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver weekly online mentoring sessions with the learner
Support discussions on confidence, motivation, and future goals
Guide the learner through structured programme materials
Create a positive, encouraging, and supportive environment
Provide brief feedback after each session
Requirements
Experience working with young people or students (ages 11–18)
Strong communication and mentoring skills
Ability to build rapport and engage learners
Experience in mentoring, tutoring, youth work, coaching, or education is desirable
Comfortable delivering sessions online via Teams or similar platforms
Must have up-to-date DBS or be willing to obtain one
