Role Overview
The Senior Software Procurement Manager will lead the procurement of software assets, negotiate high-value contracts, and maintain Geotab’s software inventory. This role focuses on optimizing software spend, ensuring compliance, and managing vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead software license and service procurement following Geotab’s Software Procurement Policy
Negotiate complex, high-value enterprise agreements (e.g., AWS, Microsoft, Salesforce)
Maintain audit-ready software inventory and manage lifecycle compliance
Implement vendor consolidation and SaaS portfolio rationalization
Create and maintain workflows, documentation, and training for procurement best practices
Act as SME for leadership on software market trends, vendor strategies, and digital transformation impact
Mentor junior procurement specialists and guide on contract negotiations, license modeling, and vendor management
Explore and implement AI-powered solutions for procurement efficiency
Qualifications & Experience
10–12 years in software procurement, managing contracts over $1M
Experience maintaining software libraries including SLAs and warranties
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Commerce, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Understanding of licensing structures: per-user, per-core, consumption-based, perpetual vs subscription
Knowledge of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Capex vs Opex, and software asset depreciation
Familiarity with industry standards (ISO/IEC 19770) and vendor audit processes
Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
Certifications like NISCL-CIPS or ISM are a plus
