To support this vision, we are seeking an experienced Marketplace Industry Advisor with deep expertise in gig economy platforms and marketplace business models.

Role Overview

The Marketplace Industry Advisor will provide strategic guidance to Digilancer’s executive team on building, scaling, and optimizing a successful freelancer marketplace. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who has previously held leadership positions at leading gig economy platforms such as Fiverr, Upwork, or similar marketplace-based companies.

The advisor will play a critical role in shaping marketplace strategy, supply and demand growth, platform monetization, and long-term scalability.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic guidance on building and scaling a global freelancer marketplace.

Advise leadership on marketplace economics, including supply-demand balance, liquidity, pricing models, and revenue optimization.

Help design strategies for freelancer acquisition, buyer growth, and category expansion.

Provide insights into marketplace product development, user experience, and platform features.

Guide the company in implementing trust, safety, and dispute resolution frameworks for marketplace integrity.

Advise on international expansion strategies and global talent network development.

Support Digilancer’s executive team in preparing for investor discussions, fundraising, and long-term market positioning.

Introduce strategic partnerships and industry relationships that can accelerate marketplace growth.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Senior leadership experience at a global freelance marketplace or gig economy platform.

Experience working with companies such as Fiverr, Upwork, Toptal, or similar digital talent marketplaces.

Deep understanding of two-sided marketplace dynamics and gig economy business models.

Strong experience in marketplace growth, product strategy, and international platform scaling.

Background in digital platforms, SaaS marketplaces, or online service ecosystems.

Ability to mentor leadership teams and contribute to strategic decision-making.

Strong industry network across freelancers, agencies, and technology platforms.
