Role Responsibilities
Enhance pricing sophistication through loss cost models
Collaborate with pricing leaders to optimize rate changes
Mentor actuarial staff on methodologies and usage
Extract, manipulate, and analyze complex data
Perform ad-hoc analyses and special projects
Evaluate and improve processes for efficiency and automation
Solve complex issues creatively and assess impacts
Represent Wawanesa in industry research and working groups
Lead projects end-to-end, including training, documentation, and implementation
Provide mentorship, training, and cross-functional guidance
Communicate project updates to stakeholders and anticipate obstacles
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
Experience: 6+ years actuarial experience preferred
Certifications: FCAS designation is an asset
Experience with machine learning modeling or other pricing modeling methods
Knowledge of actuarial science, statistics, probability, finance, and insurance
Strong database systems and data extraction skills
Advanced written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines
Team-oriented with collaborative problem-solving skills
