About the Role

Mercor is seeking detail-oriented Data Collection Specialists to support AI research projects. You will record, annotate, and document professional software workflows with precision. This role requires independent, asynchronous work with strict adherence to task guidelines to ensure high-quality data output.

Responsibilities:

• Record screen sessions demonstrating specific tasks, narrating each step clearly.

• Annotate screenshots of software by drawing precise bounding boxes around relevant UI elements.

• Follow staging instructions to set up specific UI states prior to recording.

• Use Mercor’s custom capture tools to accurately record workflows.

• Maintain high data quality and usability standards.

• 20+ hours/week
• Meet deadlines independently while continuously improving data collection processes.

Qualifications

Must-Have:

• Strong familiarity with professional software on Windows, macOS, and Linux.

• Highly detail-oriented and able to follow precise instructions.

• Comfortable working independently and meeting tight deadlines.

• Access to a physical Mac and ability to create a fresh macOS user profile if required.

• Fluent in English.

Preferred:

• Prior experience in data collection, annotation, or QA.

• Experience recording or documenting software workflows.

• Comfortable learning new tools and staged environments.
