Role Overview
Auvik is seeking a Manager of Engineering – AI & Platform to lead a new AI-focused engineering team. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will define the strategy and execution for integrating AI and machine learning capabilities into Auvik’s products. This role combines technical leadership with people management, driving both product innovation and team growth.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team of engineers and applied scientists, fostering growth, accountability, and a strong team culture.
Define and execute the AI product roadmap, collaborating closely with Product Management.
Translate customer needs into actionable features and accelerate the path from prototype to production.
Evaluate and integrate emerging AI technologies (LLMs, agents, predictive models) to create real product value.
Establish engineering best practices for ML development, including experimentation frameworks, model lifecycle management, and responsible AI guidelines.
Collaborate cross-functionally with platform, data, and product teams to embed AI capabilities into core products.
Communicate progress, trade-offs, and results clearly to leadership and stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
Several years leading engineering teams with hands-on experience building and shipping AI/ML-powered products.
Strong product sense with the ability to connect technical work to customer and business outcomes.
Working knowledge of the modern AI/ML landscape, including LLMs, RAG architectures, embeddings, fine-tuning, and ML infrastructure.
Experience developing and retaining technical talent, growing engineers’ skills and careers.
Comfortable making pragmatic decisions in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.
Excellent communication skills for translating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Bonus Skills
Background in network management, monitoring, or infrastructure software.
Experience with AI-driven automation, anomaly detection, or predictive analytics in an operations context.
