About South West Audit Partnership (SWAP)
The South West Audit Partnership (SWAP) was established in 2005 as a Local Government Partnership under Section 101 of the Local Government Act. Initially formed with just two partner authorities, SWAP has expanded significantly and now includes 14 Local Authority bodies across six counties, as well as several subsidiary public sector clients. For a full list of its partners, further details are available on their official website.
Due to its continued growth and success, SWAP reviewed its governance structure and, as of April 1st, 2013, was formally established as a publicly owned company, limited by guarantee. The company is classified as controlled under the provisions of the 1989 Local Government and Housing Act.
